Heavenly Chan
Heavenly was born in the Philippines and raised in the United States. She started her career in Taiwan and moved to Canada more than a decade ago. Having helped Alastair set up Clarke Immigration Law in the beginning and working with him for a few years and counting, she is responsible for both the administrative and accounting functions of the firm. Administratively, she handles hiring of new staff, payroll and benefits. Heavenly works with staff by providing assistance and training for the firm to operate efficiently. In terms of accounting, she handles client billings and payments as well as enquiries with regards to fees.
Having lived in different countries has enabled her to fluently communicate in languages like English, Mandarin, Tagalog and Taiwanese. With adequate knowledge of Spanish, she is currently working on mastering the French language. Heavenly’s multilingual skills give her the ability to interact and work with people from different cultures and backgrounds. Also known as the factotum of the firm, she occasionally acts as an accounts payable/receivable clerk, interpreter, legal assistant, events planner and enforcer of health and safety.
(Fun Fact: Heavenly plays the violin and had a pet pig named Cookie from Japan.)
