Pricing and Fees
Thank you for enquiring about our legal fees. Based on our investigation, we are the only immigration law firm in Manitoba to publish our fees online. We do this to make sure that we are fully transparent, open and fair with clients. To get started, call our office and book an appointment.
FAQs
Q: How much do we need to start?
A: We require a deposit to open a file which is deposited into our Trust Account, monitored by the Law Society. Our focus is on helping people and families, not on fees. Once we have a signed contract and deposit, we can open a file.
Q: Do you offer payment plans?
A: Yes, we accept all reasonable payment plans. Many clients make monthly payments.
Q: What if I miss a payment?
A: Please contact our office if you have an emergency or a life event where you are not able to make a payment on time.
Q: Do you do applications for free?
A: Yes, we provide pro bono (free) legal services through the Refugee Sponsorship Support Program. We also give free public presentations through the Community Legal Education Association and lectures at various post-secondary institutions including BCIT, the University of Winnipeg, Global College, and the University of Manitoba, Faculty of Law. Every year, we do significant work pro bono to support the communities.
Q: Will you charge me for every step?
A: No, there are many steps where we do not charge our clients. For example, we regularly do Access to Information requests for free. You are only required to pay the $5.00 government fee. Our contracts clearly outline all our services and fees.
Q: Can I switch lawyers?
A: Yes, the Rules of the Law Society allow you to switch representatives. In some cases, we advise filing a complaint against the former representative if misconduct has negatively affected our clients. Unfortunately, many clients are the victims of poor counsel.
Q: Do you charge block (fixed) fees?
A: Yes, most of our Agreements are based on block fees (see rates below); however, we also offer Agreements based on our hourly rate of $350 which is popular with clients who are familiar with billable hours. We are flexible based on our clients’ needs.
Q: Are your fees listed per person/ applicant?
A: Our fees are per application, not per person. For PR applications, for example, we charge one (1) fee for the whole application, no matter how many people are included. You will be subject to government fees.
Q: Do I have to pay Goods and Sales Tax?
A: Canadian residents are charged GST, per Canada Revenue Agency Rules. Residents outside Canada are not charged the tax.
Q: If I pay your fees, can you guarantee a successful result?
A: We cannot guarantee positive results. Guarantees are a violation of Law Society Rules. Fees pay for our services and all the work that goes into the file. A consultant or agent who “promises” a good result or “guarantees” a positive decision is likely running a scam.
Q: What is the best way to reach you?
A: Please send an email to info@clarkeimmigrationlaw.ca and someone will reply within 24 hours. You can reach us through Instagram, Facebook, phone, Skype or in-person. Our contact information is published online.
Q: Can you help me bring my family to Canada?
A: We have more than 25 years of combined experience helping clients navigate the Canadian system. We have helped to bring relatives and friends from more than 50 countries around the world.
Q. My brother lives outside Canada. Can you help me “sponsor” him?
A: Technically, “sponsorship” applications allow siblings to come to Canada under special circumstances, which are quite rare. CIL has assisted Sponsors in Canada to bring their siblings. Please book a consultation to discuss your circumstances.
Q. Do you have offices overseas?
A. Our team works in Winnipeg and we have served clients from many countries, including China, Nigeria, Brazil, India, Pakistan, UAE, USA, Mexico, St Lucia, Jamaica, Cuba, Dominica, Belize, Venezuela, Colombia, Ecuador, Guyana, Brazil, Chile, Egypt, Libya, Mali, Ghana, Guinea, Sierra Leone, Liberia, Burkina Faso, Niger, Sudan, Ethiopia, Somalia, Tanzania, DR Congo (DRC), Republic of Congo, Rwanda, Burundi, Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Syria, Israel, Turkey, Greece, Romania, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Poland, Portugal, Germany, United Kingdom, Iran, Pakistan, India, Vietnam, Malaysia, Moldova, Singapore, Indonesia, Philippines, China, South Korea, North Korea, Papua New Guinea, Russia, Australia, Japan, Kyrgystand, and Ukraine.
Q: Can you help us with family law issues or help us draft a will?
A: We are a full-service immigration law firm only. For family law, other legal services, or services outside our area of expertise, we provide referrals to our trusted Referral Partners.

Agreements and Payments
To start a file, we draft an Agreement that lists the Services and Fees. In accordance with Law Society rules, you payments are immediately deposited into our pooled trust account. We do not get paid until the work is done. Once we received the initial payment, we can immediately begin work on the file.
Access to Information Requests
In most cases, we will include an Access to Information request (ATIP application) to the Privacy Commission (Citizenship and Immigration Canada) at no additional legal cost. This provides our office with, among other things, a copy of the Officer’s notes and we use it to identify potential issues.
Reviews & Results
Please note your fees are paid for professional services, not results. We work very hard to give you the best service for affordable costs. Read testimonials from our past clients about the results we get for our clients.
We accept Legal Aid Certificates. To check eligibility for a Legal Aid Certificate, contact them directly or click here.
