CIL Team Members work closely together at our beautiful office located on the 4th floor of the Power Building in downtown Winnipeg. All candidates are expected to work on-site on a full-time basis. All Team Members at CIL must have strong communication skills. We regularly receive applications and requests from foreign-trained lawyers, paralegals and legal professionals who seek to join our team. What Happens Next?
If you have correctly followed the above procedures and you have explained how you meet our qualifications, one of our Team Members will respond to schedule an in-person interview in our Conference Room. During that interview, all candidates must confirm their qualifications and they will be assessed to determine their level of knowledge of the Canadian immigration system. All Team Members at CIL are constantly learning and navigating an ever-changing immigration system. All candidates must demonstrate a willingness to learn and fully disclose their own shortcomings. Each Team Member relies on the experience and knowledge of other Team Members and every file follows the CIL “triple check” system. This system only works when there is trust in the office.
CIL’s “Triple Check” System
Applications prepared and submitted by Team Members at CIL must follow our “triple check” system. This system ensures that every application is checked and confirmed by at least three people: the Case Worker, the Client and the Manager. The Case Worker prepares the initial draft and works with the client and supporters. All documents are provided to the client to confirm the information is 100% correct. The Manager reviews all the information to triple-check every detail before we submit. All applications submitted by CIL go through the triple-check system – including all packages to IRCC, CBSA, the IRB (all divisions), ESDC (Service Canada) and Federal Court.
The triple-check system requires significant time and attention. Most law firms do not put in as much time and effort. Our system, however, is designed to ensure that our clients are 100% fully aware of every document, every detail and every legal argument that is being made on their behalf. This system also ensures that the work product of each Case Worker is properly supported and CIL adheres to our team approach. This “triple check” system has proven to result in high quality work, a high rate of positive decisions, and a high degree of confidence with our clients. We publish our Success Stories online to show the high quality of our work and provide useful information for the public.
By law, we cannot guarantee positive results; however, the “triple check” system ensures that our clients can confirm the work product and they understand what they are paying for. Based on our high level of communication with our clients, even clients who received negative decisions have given us positive reviews as they have understood through our process that we gave them the best chance at a positive result. Many clients, after seeing all the hard work we do on their behalf, tell us that we should charge higher fees. Our focus, however, is helping as many people as we can.
