IRCC Minister: We’re #1
For the 1st time since the pandemic, Clarke Immigration Law attended the CBA National Immigration conference in person in Vancouver, BC this past weekend. This was a great opportunity to connect with colleagues from across Canada, including IRCC Officers, CBSA Officers and Minister of IRCC Sean Fraser gave the opening remarks. If you read this space, you know that IRCC programs and applications are constantly under review and the department regularly reviews new policies to cater to labour needs, health concerns and the Canadian economy.
As noted by Minster Fraser’s remarks at the conference, Canada is currently #1 in terms of destination countries. This is based on countries where people want to live and work. No wonder we are so busy! We are welcoming the Ukrainians who recently arrived to Winnipeg and we have been helping many other foreign nationals, workers and families who are focused on making Canada their permanent home.
The CBA Immigration conference 2022 was the first in-person conference since lawyers across Canada met in Winnipeg in 2019. It was wonderful to play host to our colleagues from across Canada when they came to Winnipeg and the Minister made significant announcements at that time. We look forward to building these relationships for the benefit of our clients.
