CIL was retained to prepare and submit a Spousal Open Work Permit (SOWP) application on behalf of the application. We submitted the package to IRCC from inside Canada to request work authorization and our package was approved in 45 days only. Average processing time at IRCC is 171 days.

- November 2025 – Client entered Canada and married a Canadian citizen
- March 2026 – Inland spousal sponsorship application submitted
- April 2026 – SOWP application submitted while the client maintained valid temporary resident status
- May 2026 – Application approved in approximately seven weeks, with a two-year Open Work Permit issued (valid until May 2028)

The approval allowed the client to work in Canada while the permanent residence application remains in process, providing greater stability and flexibility as the family continues building its future in Canada.
